M.C. Pearson tagged me from "Mimi's Pixie Corner" the other day. This is a twist from the 7 Random Facts MeMe that has been going around. This is the 7 random book-related facts about me.
1) When I first started reading again the book I read was Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. That began my love of the Bronte sisters and I read whatever I could get my hands on. I even started collecting older versions of the book.
2)When I was a teenager I was thoroughly devoted to fantasy novels. Some of my favorite authors from back then were: Piers Anthony, Anne McCaffery, Terry Brooks and Robert Asprin.

4) Recently I read a book called A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken. This was written by a man who was good friends with C. S. Lewis. That should give you the idea of the kind of writing that's in this book. This is a non-fiction story about his life and how God used a severe mercy in his life to draw him into a true Christ centered relationship. It is a powerful book and I love this type of writing.
5) When I was a little kid, one of my favorite books was The Pokey Little Puppy by Janette Sebring Lowrey and Gustaf Tenggren. Maybe it was because I related to well to the puppy. Many of my friends would say I still relate very well to that puppy.
6) I keep most of the books I have coming up to review or read for fun in my room. But, they happen to live in every corner of my room. Half of my queen size bed has numerous piles. Behind my headboard are about 3 stacks of books I just won from one of the ACFW Conference attendees. My nightstand has about a dozen on it. So, my room seems to double as a library!
Ok, here are the 7 people who are "it" (the ones I'm tagging):

Cool, I hope you get that hysterical when my book finally comes to you! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the Pokey Little Puppy as well...I won it in preschool. Still have that HUGE copy. It is in Evan's room. He totally loves it too...and he's 7 now. :-D
We have over 20 bookcases overflowing throughout the house...and this after I give away at least 5 a month to the library. :-O
Wow - I love reading Janette Oke books - they are some of the first Christian fiction I read too. . . and The Pokey Little Puppy!! I LOVED that one and the Tawney Scrawney Lion growing up - I just bought both for my son who is almost 2!!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks for tagging me - I've done the tag twice so far, so I'm currently out of fun bookish facts, but I've added a link to your post on my Tag post!
