Reflecting on my favorite books of 2009 I realize I didn't read nearly as much as I had hoped. Something always had a way of coming up that kept me from blazing through the books. I have stacks upon stacks of books that are my TBR pile. One day I know I will get to them, just not any time soon.
I wanted to go back and recap 10 of my favorite books of 2009 and share them with you. If you'd like to read the first chapter of many of these books, you can click on the link to my review. In no particular order, here they are:
The Shape of Mercy by Susan Meissner This was my introduction to Susan's writing and I have to say, "I'm hooked." It had a huge emotional pull on my emotions. Beautifully written!
The Apothecary's Daughter by Julie Klassen I love regency novels and this one is fantastic! I just received The Silent Governess that I can't wait to read!
The House in Grosvenor Square by Linore Rose Burkard The sequel to Before the Season Ends I'm anxious to get my hands on book 3!!
A Passion Denied by Julie Lessman Can this woman write romance or what?! I'm so excited for Katie's story to be published. One of the most anticipated books for me!
The Blue Enchantress by MaryLu Tyndall This book had a personal impact on me. MaryLu and I exchanged several emails because it had such an effect on my heart.
The Hope of Refuge by Cindy Woodsmall I wasn't sure if I wanted to read another Amish novel. This is not your mama's Amish novel! This was fantastic and my favorite Amish ever!
That Certain Spark by Cathy Marie Hake. Need I say anything more than one of my favorite author's name? :) I always love revisiting her past characters!
The Sweet by and By by Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck I love it when authors can make me have emotional reactions to their characters. I felt sorry for one and wanted to ring the neck of another!
Tuck by Stephen Lawhead Robin Hood revisited by an awesome storyteller!! I love this series!
A Vote of Confidence by Robin Lee Hatcher Believe it or not, I hadn't read any books before by Robin. I must've been living under a rock, because she is Awesome!

WOW, Mimi!!! Thank you SO much for including A Passion Denied on your top-ten favorites list for 2009 -- I am truly honored. I've read a number of the books on your list and consider myself blessed to be counted among them.
Here's to a year chock-full of God's abundant blessings for you and your family!

Julie, your book is on my list every year...at least the past 2 yrs. :) Next year will be the same I have NO doubt!! Thank you for the Christmas wishes. It was such an awesome email. Happy Twenty-Ten!
In Christ,
Mimi
I hardly read anything in 2009 (aside from toddler books!), which is sad because I love reading!
Something I plan to change for 2010. I haven't read anything on your list - so maybe that is a good place to start :)
I'm with Jen, not in regards to the toddler books, but that I haven't read any from your list! I will take these as personal recommendations and hunt some down at the library. Here's to reading in 2010!!
