Last year when I was visiting our local Hallmark for Christmas gifts, I saw the Recordable Storybooks for the first time. I thought they were such a spectacular idea. Having all of my family out-of-state having my parents record a Storybook for my kids is simply priceless.
Recordable Storybooks feature voice-capture technology that records the reader’s voice, which is then captured within the Recordable Storybook. When a page is turned, the book automatically plays the text on that page in the reader’s voice. It’s a great way to capture a special moment that can be shared with a child over and over again. And since the recording lasts for the life of the book, it can also serve as a teaching tool to help a child overcome obstacles many kids face when learning to read.
I received All The Ways I Love You for review. I haven’t actually recorded on it because I’m saving it to give to my step-daughter who is due with my 2nd “step”-grandchild. (I only call them “step” in this situation because I’m just not old enough to be a grandma! LOL My step-daughter knows I consider her more than a step-child) If she wants me to record on it, I will be honored, but I let her choose.
There’s so much I love about the book:
- The ability for our voice to be captured for a lifetime
- That my kids, had they been younger, could learn to read by listening to my voice and eventually their own
- They make wonderful, personal gifts
- Children can stay connected to family that lives far away

I would pick "The Very First Christmas." I would get my dad to record it for his future grandchild. josiecroix(at)gmail(dot)com

Mimi, I just saw these last night I'd love to get one for my sister who is going on her second tour-of-duty in January. She has a daughter who is almost exactly Wyatt's age... and I can't imagine leaving her.
I'd get The Very First Christmas.
I think my little nephew would love the Very First Christmas.

The Night Before Christmas. Every Christmas Eve, my entire life, either my father or my grandfather would read it to us before bed. Now my dad reads it to my kids and to have a recorded version would be priceless!

The recordable story that would me the most to my family is "On The Night You Were Born" because I really love the sentiment.

The very first Christmas. In our family, that story means so very Much and this would be a way for my HUsband to record the story for them and for them to play it for years after we are gone. Such a treasure and a presious memory. Thanks Hallmark and Woven by Words!

I would love to have this for my daughter. She is 9, and misses her grandmother more than anything. Her Mamaw is her best friend, but since my father in law AND my husband are both pastors, we have been separated by distance. Abbie misses her Mamaw most at Christmas. I would love to have Mamaw record "The Night Before Christmas" for her and then give it to her in person!!!

I would get it for my daughter to read to her grandma because she is only able to see her a couple times a year due to distance :(
The Very First Christmas would be most meaningful to our family. I love the sweet ending..."But that very first Christmas, the best gift of all was the baby himself, snuggled up in the stall. For he taught us to love in all that we do, to love strong and forever...the way I love you."
Thanks for the giveaway!

Words of a special person can sooth, comfort and entertain!
These books are little gems!
I's choose the Frosty the Snowman one because I can imagine the giggles and squeals now of the little ones hearing the voices that they love!

I would pick the book "All the Way I Love You". Currently, we are raising my cousins 4 year old daughter. (My cousin died in a plane crash.) By next summer, this little girl might have to leave us and go back to her biological father. The thought makes me want to weep. I would love to send her with a book like this...
