About the Book

Beautiful Blue Eyes celebrates the unique thoughts, feelings and spirit of the blue-eyed boy or girl.

My Review

I have to say I really enjoy Marianne’s books. Her book, If I Could Keep You Little, is one I love! Here she’s created another wonderful and sweet book that tells our children how much their eyes say and mean to us.

As parents we excitedly wait to see what color our baby’s eyes will be, knowing that most babies are born with blue eyes. In Beautiful Blue Eyes, these eyes stay blue. In rhyme, we learn about how much a child’s eyes say to us.

Our children’s eyes can sparkle at certain moments, tell us they’re moods, and with a look tell us what they’re thinking. We know the saying that the eyes are the windows to the soul.

The illustrations are cute and the fonts have fun bold letters that stick out on each page. The font is large enough that as your little reader is beginning to learn to read will be able to pick up words as they go.

Do you have a little one with brown eyes? Marianne has written a book for your little one as well.

About the Author

Marianne Richmond Marianne Richmond turned a personal tragedy into a motivational vehicle, becoming an award-winning author and selling over a million books in the process.

Her career was launched by accident; she was diagnosed with a brain tumor (thankfully benign), the cause of numerous epileptic seizures through her childhood. During her five-week recovery period, Marianne created hand-painted thank you cards for her many well-wishers. With Jim’s, her new boyfriend, and friend’s encouragement, she decided to launch her own greeting card business, Marianne Richmond Studios, Inc.  As distribution for her cards increased, she decided to try her hand at writing a book, honoring her biggest fan, her now-husband Jim, with The Gift of an Angel.

Beginning with her first book in 1997, Gift of An Angel, writer and artist Marianne has touched the lives of millions over the past decade through her line of greeting cards and gift books. Since then she has become a recognized creator of numerous books that celebrate milestones in life, memorable journeys, and relationships.  Marianne currently lives in Minneapolis, MN with her even-keeled husband, Jim, their four kids, and their senior citizen Border Collie, Clay. Here’s some exciting information from the publisher:

For the first time in the company’s history, Sourcebooks has four titles on the New York Times Bestseller List AND a USA Today Bestseller! We’re really a little overwhelmed. This isn’t what happens normally to indie presses.

The New York Times Bestseller List for Children’s Picture Books for the week ending March 26, 2011 will feature not one, not two, but THREE Sourcebooks Jabberwocky titles (http://www.nytimes.com/best-sellers-books/2011-04-10/picture-books/list.html)! Olympic gold medal figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi’s debut children’s book, Dream Big, Little Pig!, remains on the list for the second consecutive week at the #3 spot after debuting at #2 for sales for the week ending March 19, 2011.

Author Jennifer Fosberry’s My Name Is Not Isabella returns to the New York Times Bestseller List at the #9 spot, after previously landing at the #10 spot for sales for the week ending December 26, 2010. Fosberry’s new book, My Name Is Not Alexander, debuts at #10 on the Children’s Picture Book list this week.

And then...Bestselling UK author Jill Mansell has matched her success overseas with a double bestseller in the U.S.: Miranda’s Big Mistake has reached #12 on the New York Times eBook Bestseller List and is #86 on the USA Today Bestseller List for sales for the week ending March 26, 2011 (http://content.usatoday.com/life/books/booksdatabase/default.aspx?sortBy=&lastValue=60&date=latest). Miranda’s Big Mistake is Mansell’s first bestseller in the United States, the first New York Times eBook bestseller for Sourcebooks AND first Sourcebooks fiction title to land on the USA Today Bestseller List.

I received a book for review. The opinion expressed is my own and never influenced by the company.
