In a bygone era when women wore dresses and high heels to carry their families’ laundry in a wicker basket to their very first automatic washing machine, they turned to Tide for “the cleanest clothes possible.” More than a half-century later, families still turn to Tide, now offered in more than two dozen liquid and powder formulas. To celebrate its 65th Anniversary, Tide is issuing special-edition packages with the 1947 label. Procter & Gamble (P&G) invites consumers to enjoy a blast from the past with retro-packaged Tide, Bounce and Downy available at Target, while supplies last.
The vintage packaging harkens back to Tide’s early print advertising, which featured copy such as:
· Washday soaps? Jane tried ‘em all, And every new detergent. But, none matched Tide – and so she cried, „“Please send some Tide! It’s urgent!“
· Detergents, soaps, she tried them all and wasn’t satisfied ... But now his shirts are dazzling clean! Smart girl ... she turned to Tide!
When we received our package in the mail, I didn’t have to open the box to know what was inside. Which one of us couldn’t name Tide simply by the fragrance? My 11yo son wanted me to wash his clothing in the Tide samples we received because he kept saying how good it smelled. I
wonder if Tide has ever considered making car air fresheners with their laundry detergent fragrance! (Remember you saw that idea here first)I complied with my son and did his and his brother’s laundry with the Tide. Of course I threw in some of my own clothes. Shhh don’t tell them. I’ve already used the Bounce Bar before so I just slipped mine into the holder and away we went. I can’t tell you how convenient it is not e
ven think about dryer sheets. We were all very happy with the results!
I grew up with my mom using all three of these products. Bounce was always my favorite part of doing laundry because I loved how my clothes smelled after I brought them out! Now that they have the Bounce bar I can still get the same static free, good smelling laundry that I did when I was a kid and my mom used the dryer sheets. Ok, I used the dryer sheets for forever, too, I’m just happy to have the bar because sometimes I forget to put the sheets in.Two people will have the opportunity to win a “Retro” t-shirt (featuring the Tide logo size large), samples of Tide and Downy and a full size Bounce Dryer Bar!
