Do you say “pee-uh-nees” or “pee-OH-nees”? I think this is a regional thing. I say the first one. Here in MN they say the 2nd one. This is the first year they’ve bloomed!Simba loves his box. We closed the lid for about 15 seconds and it was pretty amusing. Make sure you check out these other Wordless Wednesday participants: 7 on a Shoestring, 3 Princes And A Princess 2, and My Wee View.
You have peonies! Yeah! I just love the smell. They are definitely my favorite.
ReplyDeleteSo funny. We had this discussion at book club last week. I say the second one and I was very out-numbered! lol. Too funny about the cat. My daughter got a kick out of that. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteI love peUHnies :) Our cat likes to rip boxes to shreds if we let him lol!
ReplyDeleteI love peonies! They are so pretty. But, it's those ants that I just can't stand!! lol

Love the peonies but I am laughing at the cat. Reminds me of mine right now. Especially since we're moving and boxes are everywhere.
ReplyDeleteNot all Minnesotans say pee-OH-nees. My HB does. I say pee-uh-nees.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the old peonies are unavailable? They've been hybrid to eliminate the fragrance and thus the ants. We've been trying to find a certain one and can't as it's too old.
Love flowers no matter what kind of box they are in.

This is my all-time favorite flower. I pronounce it both ways...whatever comes out of my mouth that day...LOL!
ReplyDeleteI say the first way... pee-uh-nees. I have never heard it the other way. lol
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute about your cat. Mine is obsessed with anything she can put herself into. She likes to be in a laundry basket. LOL
Definitely pee-uh-nees and they are one of my favorite flowers!
ReplyDeleteLove the peonies! They only grow in the highlands over here in our part of the world.
ReplyDeleteCute cat too!
I'm too lazy to say either; it's pee-nees here!!!
ReplyDeleteYour cat is so funny!
Definitely pee-uh-nees!
ReplyDeleteI love your pee-OH-nees. ;)
ReplyDeleteSimba is like, "Hey, who turned out the lights?"
ReplyDeletePeonies are very pretty flowers. I say it the second way.
ReplyDeleteI had some almost that same color, but ours bloomed back in April (we're in Atlanta). Love the kitty!
ReplyDeleteWow! Hi! Love your blog. Will definitely be back :).
ReplyDeleteI love those flowers, I've been thinking of trying to grow them but we arent' the right zone I believe pee-ah-knees
ReplyDeletelol of course I say it the same as you do since I am a fellow Minnesotan :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love the middle shot of the cat!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE peonies! They are one of my faves!
ReplyDeleteIt's pee-OH-nees here. What fun with your kitty.
ReplyDeleteGreat name for a cat! Too cute.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful! I can't really tell flowers differently though. And I think I say it the 2nd way...not sure. Just a short 'o'
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, and if you want to know the story about the black-eye I posted it a few minutes ago. Everyone was curious so don't feel alone. LOL Love the Cat in the box. Cats are such curious playful creatures aren't they? Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, oh! I loooove peonies (pee-uh-nees)! If it weren't for the Las Vegas heat (and my Black Thumb), I'd so love to try and grow some! *sigh*
ReplyDeleteVisiting from 5 Minutes For Mom! :-) Happy Hump Day!
I say, "pee-OH-nees." Not sure if I'm right, but that's what I say.

I have a tree peony & a reg. one. hubby moved the reg one & it doesn't do as well as the big tree peony, even tho they are in the same area. mine are a deep fuchsia. I like your pink. Cats love boxes, bags or anyplace they can squeeze their bodies into & hide or get ready to attack you! LOL
ReplyDeleteI say "pee-uh-knees" but I've never smelled them before.
ReplyDeleteAnd cats scare the living daylights out of me.
Beautiful flowers. And the cat in the box is just too cute! :)
ReplyDeleteBTW... Thanks for the link love!
