As the holiday season approaches, you may find yourself with
a long list of recipients on your kids’
gift lists! There are often Kris Kringles at school, grandparents you haven’t
seen in a while, and teachers who deserve a little something for their hard
work throughout the year. Here are a few ideas that can make for fun, easy
presents.
Photo Gifts.
There is truly nothing better than a personalized gift that makes a great
memento for years to come. Parents and grandparents will especially appreciate
these types of presents. Websites like Shutterfly and Snapfish make it easy to
turn your photos into a variety of really useful items — coffee mugs,
calendars, photo books, magnets and more!
Paint Your Own
Pottery. There are a bunch of great little shops around that allow you to
paint your own pottery. You can make bowls, mugs, picture frames, vases, pencil
holders and lots of other things. Some of these places can be a bit pricey but
when you consider that you get a fun day of entertainment with the kids
combined with a great gift, the price may be worth it.
A Day Out. Dad or
Grandma and Grandpa might like nothing better than a day out with the kids. Why
not treat them to a movie and dinner at their favorite restaurant or a sporting
event or play that everyone will enjoy? The shared experience will be even more
memorable than something material.
Baked Goods.
Everyone appreciates some sweets around the holidays, and if your kids get in
the kitchen and make them themselves, they’ll be as excited to give them as
gifts as their teacher or friends will be to receive them! You can print up the
recipe on a nice piece of paper so that the recipient can replicate the treats
themselves. Plus if you bake in bulk, you’ll save both time and money!
