Wordless Wednesday: Me and My Girl

I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to spend a couple of days with my oldest daughter. She came in late Wed night from MN and Thurs we spent the 4th of July with Fred. Friday we drove to Fredericksburg to meet with my sister-in-law, Maria and her daughters. We had such a fun time!

There’s this beautiful thing that happens when your daughter gets old enough to hang out with you. We laughed SO much and the BEST part was when we caught a firefly. This is the girl who HATES bugs. She was determined to catch one. Here in VA we have millions of fireflies. In MN, not so much. So I finally found one, caught it and she came over to hold it. It was stuck on the grass. I cupped it and she came over to cup it as well. Well, we were good for maybe 45 seconds…until she felt it, flicked it onto my hand and we both ran away screaming. Oh my gosh, we were laughing so hard it was priceless. If only it had been caught on video! She and I can be two peas in a pod apparently!

  2. It looks like you had so much fun! I wish we had fireflies here, though I feel like I'd probably scream if it touched me too lol.

  3. Oh I'm so glad you had time together!

I had a student this year who's parents owned Giant Gummy Bears. My own children were thrilled with those gifts! :-)
