Stay Powered With The New Trent PowerPak Ultra Giveaway

Trying to figure out how to start my review of this New Trent PowerPak Ultra without sounding jealous and disliking my boyfriend because he’s the one who has it. Yes, I gave it to him for Christmas, but does that count against me? I’m all about re-gifting and if he reaaaaally loved me he’d regift this! HA!

I’d say, “All kidding aside,” but that’s how much I love and want his new back up power. A year and a half ago, a friend of mine knew I was going to BlogHer ‘12 and would need a back up supply for my phone so he found one online and I bought it. It served it’s purpose…barely.

After I met Fred, it became very clear to me, this man needed a back up battery supply that would MORE than do the job. See, he has this lovely little habit of letting his phone die about half way through the day or forgetting his power cord for his laptop. Makes me INSANE! He’s constantly traveling from one store to another and not always having a way to charge his devices. I was on a serious mission to find him something. We were NOT going into 2014 without him having a way to keep charged.

When I came across the New Trent PowerPak, I was pretty impressed with it. You could charge two devices at once and it was compatible with just about anything we might own. The one “down side” was that a wall charger didn’t come with it, but had to be purchased separately. Glad we got a wall charger with it because I didn’t want to have to rely on a laptop to charge it, although I already had a USB wall charger from my phone.

Now, the PowerPak holds an extremely long charge, hence my jealousy of Fred having it! He was able to charge his iPhone FIVE times before he had to charge it again! With mine, I would suck the power out of the back up supply and maybe be at 20% on my phone. (ten minute later update because of a bragging text I just got) So, Fred, in all of his lovely timeliness, just sent me a text saying that his charger is “cool” because it shuts off once his phone reaches 100%. He left it plugged in overnight and it was off when he woke up. I guess he’s using the power pack because he doesn’t like his phone charging even after it’s charged with the wall plug-in! UGH! I’m turning a darker shade of green!

I just realized this would be perfect for my 2nd daughter, Smooch. After she graduates college this year, she’ll be going on a year long mission trip visiting twelve different countries. I’m thinking she might not have a lot of opportunity to charge her tablet. 3rd world countries don’t always have electricity available like we do here! Rugged would be perfect for her because she’s always out and about!

Not only that, but she’s big into hiking and being in the great outdoors. This bad boy is made for the rugged outdoors. It has ribbing on it that keeps it protected in case it falls. The outputs seal tight in case it’s exposed to liquid!

And just so I don’t stay jealous of my boyfriend’s new gadget, I plan on getting my hands on one of these babies this year! If you got new tech gear for Christmas, trust me, you’ll want a back up battery like this one. You honestly can’t go wrong with it! And besides, you’ll make your friends envious. Who wouldn’t want that? =)

And yes, Fred headed on a business trip without it charged and today, he got another charge from what was left on that one bright light and then his phone died. lol He better figure out the reason I gave this to him, or I’m taking it back when he gets home! hahahahaha Some people’s children!
